Welcome to another episode of Meet the Residents! Today we share our Ring-Tailed Lemurs, Lily and Leonard.
Lily is half of our dynamic duo! They are often one of the first residents that guests see when they tour Tiger Creek, and they have never been known to turn down attention! Always putting on a show, swinging from branch-to-branch in their yard, Lily is a dynamite of a personality. She is the first to inspect new enrichment items or a change to their habitat, and always takes on a new puzzle head first.

Lily has never passed up an opportunity to say hello to a crowd, always under the guise that our tour groups are there just for her, and who are we to tell her she's wrong? She wouldn't believe us anyhow.
While Ring-Tailed Lemurs are known for their distinct face markings and alternating black and white loops on their tail, they also have incredible vocalizations! Lily is often "cooing" at keepers or purring while grooming Leonard. Lily's favorite enrichment items are puzzle feeders. Keepers will strategically place treats in a puzzle, which makes Lily use her brain and fine motor skills to carefully pick out the snack.

Leonard is the more reserved of the duo, although still known by staff to love a good chat. Leonard can often be found sitting back to observe how Lily interacts with something new before taking the dive herself. One thing Leonard will never turn down is a training session! She loves to interact with her keepers through training sessions, always excited to learn a new skill to give her more autonomy in her veterinary exams. Although not as chatty as her yard mate, Leonard's shy personality holds a special place in our hearts.
