No process for corrections: Even when we offer fresh audits and documentation, CharityWatch will not review them until the next two-year cycle. This means errors or outdated information remain public for years without any option for us to update or clarify.
While CharityWatch operates as a nonprofit watchdog organization, the amount of publicly available financial information it shares about its own operations is limited. This lack of transparency can raise questions about how closely their own practices align with the standards they apply to organizations like Tiger Creek.
Notably, according to their reported financials, approximately 57.7% of CharityWatch’s expenses go toward executive compensation and other wages.
Our Efforts to Communicate
Over the past year, Tiger Creek has contacted CharityWatch several times, providing updated audits. We have asked CharityWatch detailed questions about their methodology and requested advice on how to improve our standing. In return, their replies were limited and did not provide a clear path forward.

“We want to raise our grade. Which spending ratios, disclosures, or documents should we focus on first to make the biggest impact?”
From CharityWatch (July 2025):
“Tiger Creek’s rating is ‘D’… based on fiscal 2023 data. Please see our criteria on the ‘Our Process’ page.”
From Tiger Creek (September 2025):
“We would like to send updated audited financials and Form 990 for FY2024. Can we schedule a call to review the documents?”
From CharityWatch (September 2025):
“Tiger Creek’s current rating was updated in March 2025 using FY2023 data. We generally update every other fiscal year; the next potential update would be based on FY2025.”
In short, no pathway was offered for immediate updates or corrections.
