Tigerfest

With Donor Participation We are Planning a Festival

To Benefit the Tigers at Tiger Creek

A First Annual Event to be Held in October 2008

Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge and BlueyedSun Marketing & Entertainment are excited to announce the first annual Tigerfest! This special event will be held on a date to be determined in October 2008. Festival grounds are just north of Tyler, in Red Springs, Texas, on hwy 14.

Tigerfest 2008 will help raise funds to expand the capacity of the refuge, create new habitats, educate the public, continue their college internship program, and establish Tiger Creek as a North American Tiger Conservation Center.

Bands from around the area will be given the opportunity to send in a CD to qualify for one of five spots to play during the day of Tigerfest 2008. The evening of the festival there will be a concert with a major headliner. Our goal is to bring in someone, such as, Randy Travis, Emerson Drive or Chris Young.

Students have the opportunity to enter in contests to win cash prizes and be involved in the development of Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge.

   - Kindergarten – 5th grades will be asked to do a “Save the Tiger” poster. Prize money will be given and the opportunity to have their art incorporated into next years kids’ T-shirt design.

   - 6th – 8th grades will be asked to produce an 8x10 color ad or a 30 second radio spot surrounding the theme “Toward the Future.” Winners will be given prize money and their ads will be incorporated into advertising for the year.

   - 9th – 12th grades can do either a 30 second television commercial or a model of a natural habitat focused on the theme, “Toward the Future.” The commercial will be incorporated in the advertising for the year. The 1st place natural habitat model will be displayed at Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge and the winner will be involved in the construction of a new habitat for Tiger Creek.

Kids Corner is all about the kids! Pony rides, Longhorn rides, jumping rooms, a petting zoo, climbing wall and much more will give the kids a great day of family fun.
Local restaurants, other food vendors and merchant vendors will be stationed through out the festival. Silent auction items can be bid on from 9 am until 6 pm. Businesses, individuals, and vendors are encouraged to donate merchandise, trips, gift certificates, or anything they are able to give to help the auction be a huge success.

We want to encourage everyone to be involved in Tigerfest 2008. If you have any questions please contact Jamie Ollive or Bobbie Kuhn with BlueyedSun Marketing & Entertainment.

Thank you for your support and we will see at Tigerfest 2008!
